Stoke Golding Club

The club was founded in 1929 when locals purchased former hunting lodge Thornfield House and opened the club to members who could enjoy a rest from days working the land or in the factories of surrounding hosiery manufacturing industry.

Thornfield House

Although little is known about its early days, in more recent times the club has evolved to serve the community and its loyal members by the addition of “the concert room” or Thornfield Suite as it is now known, renamed for the 90th anniversary. The Thornfield Suite function room has become a very successful addition to the club and is in high demand for hire for everything from christenings, birthday parties, wedding receptions, anniversary’s, disco’s, presentations, the Garden Show, the Orchid Society Show, Halloween, New Years Eve, major Football and sporting events, and corporate events such as conferences and meetings.

Serving the community

Saturday Morning if you fancy  Coffee & Cake pop into the club. Everyone is welcome.  Sample our homemade cakes and fresh coffee (or tea, or pop) from 10am until 12pm.  Our coffee morning already proved to be a hit with the community, something they tell us the village was crying out for
